Solid - liquid separation using gravity is a theory
of contradiction between fluid flow and gravity. Inclined
plate Separation is a unique clarification arrangement
in which solids are removed from the waste water by
directing the fluid between a series of inclined plates
resulting in a large surface area in a small space.
Zion enviro offers inclined plate separators solid-liquid
separation as well as Oil-Water separation by ingeniously
reversing the fluid flow in the same system.

| Principle of operation |
| Feed water enters
the integrated flash mixer cum flocculator.
Coagulant chemicals are added by metering pumps.
Flocculated water enters the feed and diverts
to the bottom section of the plate separator.
As the fluid rises through plates the flocculated
particles are separated by gravity on the plates
and slide on the smooth surface to the sludge
collection cone at the bottom. The clear water
from suspended matters exits at the top. The
collected sludge from the bottom will be discharged
periodically. |

Zion Enviro's Solids
Contact Recirculation Clarifier is a high rate
system solids contact principle of combining
coagulation, flocculation and chlorination in
a single unit. It takes minimum time and space
while producing highest quality.
Zion Enviro's Solids contact Recirculation Clarifiers
are extensively used for Coagulation/clarification
of water and waste water containing suspended
solids, colour and impurities. It is also used
for water softening using cold lime soda process. |

| PRINCIPLE OF OPERATION |
| Zion Enviro's Solids
type contact carries out coagulation, flocculation
and clarification in a single unit. The feed
is pumped in to the contact in a Zone at the
center clarification. Coagulant and flocculent
chemical dosed at this point by positive displacement
pump. The feed is intimately mixed in zone where
sludge formed earlier is re-circulated to provide
rapid coagulation and flocculation. A
separate variable speed impeller is in the
solids contact zone independent of this solids
contact. The rapid mixing of the impeller
results in formation of dense particles and
sludge. From the mixing zone the water enters
into the external settling room and particles
settle rapidly to the bottom sludge bed.
Multi blade sludge scrapper arms are provided
to carry sludge to the central from where
it is easily drawn out as highly concentrated
slurry. The clarified water enters the top
of the recirculation and flows out of the
system through the launders.
